Seven miles south of Cambridge is the quaint little village of Newton.
Stooped in history with a population of 378, there are a total of 31 listed buildings and monuments in the vicinity. Five neighbouring villages have roads leading directly into Newton – Whittlesford, Harston, Hauxton, Thriplow, Foxton; 3 major commuting roads are also easily accessed – M11, A505 & A10. The heart of the village is The Queens Head Pub – renowned for its real ales, it is quoted by Wikipedia to be “one of very few that have appeared in every edition of CAMRA’a Good Beer Guide, since it started in the 1970’s”... In a triangular position from the pub, there is a children’s small park, a sports & social club and opposite is Town Street which leads to the magnificent stately home Newton Hall. Newton Hall’s scenic surroundings makes it a very popular venue for Weddings; but, it is also home to approximately 25 individual businesses (ranging from Horse Box Hire, Floristry, Recruitment, Photography, Care Agency, Marketing, Book Keeping & Accounting - to name a few). Despite the amount of different businesses that operate here, Newton Hall still manages to ooze a serene atmosphere and offers a privacy that you almost certainly won't find elsewhere! And of course the icing on the cake - there are no extortionate parking costs - customers have use of the free car park within the grounds. The pub and the park are a matter of minutes by foot & the grounds welcome dog walkers = several tasks completed in one journey!
